Christian Friends of Israel Conference – Isle of Wight 25th & 26th March 2017

St. Paul’s Barton is delighted to be hosting a “Christian Friends of Israel Conference – Isle of Wight” with David and Julia Soakell on the weekend of the 25th/26th March.

The conference is titled:  “Is this the generation of the coming King?

David Soakell has been with Christian Friends of Israel (CFI) since 1986, an Area Representative since 1995, and full-time with this ministry since 2001. Apart from his role as CFI-UK Church Liaison Officer, David is also part of the Communications Department, writing the weekly CFI News Reports (Watching over Zion) for a worldwide audience. As a young Believer in the 1980s, David spent time with the Russian Underground Churches smuggling Bibles into what was then the Soviet Union, and later spent three years with Romanian Children’s Aid: helping children with AIDS in a Romanian Hospice. Since 1995 he has been working with CFI-UK, what he and his family believe is God’s calling on their lives, to work and help the people of Israel, along with edifying the Church

Julia Soakell  joined the CFI team as staff from the beginning of 2016 taking on the role of Church Liaison Support and Prayer Encouragement. Julia has already fulfilled much of this role on a voluntarily level for the past 10 years, alongside her husband David, but now takes on this and specific responsibility for the recruiting and coordinating of Church Links, Prayer Group Leaders and intercessors as well as booking conferences.

Julia will be speaking at 4pm on Saturday 25th March  – “Heart for a generation”

(Heart for a Generation is a prayer and teaching event  to help the church pray specifically for the generation of young people 15 – 35 in the UK , in Israel and in the Palestinian areas)

From 6pm David will be speaking:  “Is this the generation of the coming King”

(Refreshments will be provided between the two sessions with a chance to browse the book stall)

David will also be our speaker on Sunday 26th March at 10am during our morning worship on “Why Israel”

We hope to have all the talks available on our website if people who are unable to attention would like to listen –
