We are delighted to announce the appointment of two clergy to the West Wight, who will begin with us the exciting process of developing a new Team and emerging Mission Community. The Revd Clive Todd, currently Rector of the Lower Swale in North Yorkshire with responsibility for eight churches will be Team Rector Designate with responsibility for Brighstone, Shorwell, Mottistone, Brook, Shalfleet, Thorley, Newtown and Calbourne. Clive is a native of Tyne and Weir and currently the vicar of eight parishes in Lower Swale, North Yorkshire, previous to that he was at Canterbury where he was Diocesan Director of Ordinands. He will be moving into Brighstone Rectory with his wife Carolyne. Clive has been heavily involved in work with young people throughout his ministry. He enjoys the outdoor life, activities including open water swimming and diving and has a best Triathlon time of under 3 hours!
He will be joined by the Revd Leisa McGovern, currently Assistant Curate Ottervale Mission Community based at Ottery St Mary in Devon who will become Team Vicar Designate for Freshwater and Yarmouth and in due course for Totland as well. Their joint licensing service will be on Sunday 22nd April at 4pm, venue to be confirmed.
