Fundraising

The five churches are committed to fund-raising for various charities.  In the last year these have included The Children’s Society, IOW Foodbank, Christian Aid and Love Russia.  The Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival raised over £10,000 in 2016, to be shared between over 100 charities.

We regularly host fund-raising concerts. If you would like to hold an event to raise money for charity at one of our churches, please contact Barbara in the church office.

2015 Ride & Stride – This year’s Ride and Stride was a great success with seven participants across our churches taking part.  A stirling effort by all meant that of the 47 churches participating, approximately 30 were visited (along with some extras who weren’t participating).  Our Riders and Striders were well-supported by the congregations and approximately £700 was raised for Hampshire and The Islands Historic Churches Trust, and for our own churches.

The Hampshire and Islands Historic Churches Trust raises funds towards the upkeep of some 900 historic church buildings dating from the 8th – 20th century.  Since 1988 HIHCT has provided grants and loans in excess of £540,000 to help repair, restore and maintain churches, their contents and churchyards.  More than 300 churches, chapels and meeting houses in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight have benefited.
