Friends of St Mary’s Brighstone

St Mary’s has stood in the heart of Brighstone for over 800 years. It provides a place of worship, prayer, christenings, confirmations, weddings and funerals. The aim of the Friends is to raise funds for the preservation, repair and maintenance of this beautiful church building.

This year there is an urgent need for repairs to the roof to be undertaken costing approximately £60,000.

Parishes must be self-supporting in covering the upkeep of their aging buildings, there is no central funding available and this cannot be met by the small number of regular worshippers alone. We need every member of the community who values the presence of the church to support in any way they can.

Membership covers free entry to fundraising events such as our Raise the Roof Concerts, as well as specific Friends events.

Annual subscription £25.00 single, or £40 double/plus guest (concession rates are available).
