St Mary the Virgin, Brighstone
St Mary’s is a family-friendly church, fully-accessible for wheelchair, mobility scooter and buggy users! Toilet and kitchen facilities enable us to offer the church for community use and we regularly host a variety of fund-raising concerts for local charities. Together with our sister churches we fund provision of outreach workers for isolated members of our community, and children and young people. We extend a warm invitation to you to join us for worship, or any other parish activities. If you enjoy or would like to try singing, handbell ringing, change ringing or play a musical instrument, please see the music page for more details and contact information. A place of significant history – three former Rectors have become Bishops; saintly hymn writer Thomas Ken, Samuel Wilberforce (the youngest son of William Wilberforce) and George Moberly.
In Brighstone we seek to serve our village community by providing a variety of worship styles, using the Prayer Book (BCP), Common Worship (CW), as well as less structured styles of worship.
