The Brighstone Flower Festival and Strawberry Fair.

There is a lot going on in Brighstone in June with the Brighstone Flower Festival on from Friday June 17th until Sunday 19th with viewing from 10am to 5.30pm. (Please allow for Sunday service between 11am and 1pm and you are welcome to join in this if you wish). Admission to the festival is free with any and all donations gratefully received. Funds raised will be in aid of the “Raise the Roof Fund” for St Mary’s Church Roof.

From the Friday the beautiful floral displays can be viewed in St Mary’s Church  and for your enjoyment the Credorer Ensemble will be playing restful music between 10 and 11am. In the evening why not take in the fantastic choral concert at 7pm with no less than four choirs. Refreshments in the interval and a cake stall. This popular concert is also free admission with all donations / proceeds going to the “Raise the Roof  Fund”.

We anticipate the weekend will be busy as there is a lot going on, but don’t worry, there will be refreshments available in the Scout Centre from 10am till 4-30pm on both Saturday and Sunday served by Brighstone Guides, Brownies and Rainbows and whilst enjoying your refreshments we hope you will take the opportunity to view the displays depicting all the activities that are available in our Community. You will be surprised at all the activities on offer.

On the Sunday between 11am and 4pm is the National Garden Scheme “Open gardens day” Tickets £4.50 available in the local stores give admission to the beautifully kept gardens and an opportunity to purchase some plants.  If you have enjoyed a tea or coffee in the Scout Centre in the morning and perhaps visited some of the gardens you might like to spoil yourself  and celebrate HM The Queen’s 90th Birthday with a delicious strawberry cream tea in the Wilberforce Hall  between 12.30 and 4pm. ……and don’t miss the superb finale concert with the Medina Marching Band  performing in St Mary’s Church at 6.30pm. Tickets available on the door £5 to include  refreshments in the interval. Early seating is recommended.

We hope you will enjoy all that is happening in our village and we look forward to seeing you.
